The National Education Association -- The National Education Association (NEA) is more than 3 million people—educators, students, activists, workers, parents, neighbors, friends—who believe in opportunity for all students and in the power of public education to transform lives and create a more just and inclusive society. 

Faithful America - Their motto is "Love Thy Neightbor. No exceptions." They advocate for a Biblical Christian perspective in many of the crises we have listed here., including a recent petition to keep Christian-nationalist indoctrination out of our schools.

Jim Wallis, founder of Sojourners and inaugural holder of Georgetown University's  Archbishop Desmond Tutu Chair in Faith and Justice, writes in his book The False White Gospel, "White Christian Nationalism doesn't cross lines, it creates them. It seeks to divide us, , leading this country down a path that starts with fear, that turns to hate, and ultimately leads to violence. White Christian Nationalism defies what Jesus says about loving our neighbor, and even our enemies."

NAACP Legal Defense Fund  -- The Legal Defense Fund’s mission has always been transformative: to achieve racial justice, equality, and an inclusive society. The new political landscape and retrenchment in key areas of civil rights pose unprecedented threats to the hard-won gains of the last half-century. From new assaults on voting rights to a renewed push to undermine equal access to quality education, to discrimination in the criminal legal system, and police discrimination that threatens public safety, we face significant challenges in every area of our work. They have recently filed suit against Trump's anti-DEI policies.

Sojourners -- Sojourners is a Christian organization dedicated to social justice, peace, and faith-driven activism. Through nonprofit journalism, digital media, advocacy, education, and grassroots mobilization, we strengthen movements for human rights, dignity, and justice—racial, gender, economic, and environmental. Collaborating across faiths and backgrounds, we promote justice and a multiracial democracy. Rooted in Jesus’ teachings and the vision of the Beloved Community, we seek to replace fear and division with a vision that uplifts the vulnerable, promotes the common good, and enables all communities to thrive.

It used to be said, if you don't like the direction the country is going, just wait until the next election and vote for someone else. Some people are probably still relying on that. But with voter suppression raising its ugly head all across the country, with Billionaires buying up the media and with Donald Trump's dictatorial approach to power, many of us fear there might not be another free election. We must fight NOW to keep our rights. Here are some organizations that help:

The American Civil Liberties Union -- The ACLU dares to create a more perfect union — beyond one person, party, or side. Our mission is to realize this promise of the United States Constitution for all and expand the reach of its guarantees.

The Crisis of Politicizing the Justice System

The Crisis of America First Thinking

Trump's America First approach alienates our allies, makes us more exposed to bad actors on the international stage, and violates our common humanity under God.  We must realize that not only is it true that "no man is an island apart to himself", but no nation exists alone to itself either. That's why USAID is important. We NEED each other as human beings. Here are some organizations that help us reach beyond "America First" (These are only a few of many):

Save the Children -- "We work in the hardest-to-reach places, where it’s toughest to be a child." Includes work in Sudan and Gaza.

OxFam America  -- We’re suing the Trump Admin. The attacks on foreign assistance & USAID are already having life or death consequences for millions of people globally, cutting off critical food, water, medicine, sanitation, and more.

Doctors without Borders -- After more than 15 months of war, Gaza has been left in ruins and the humanitarian needs more dire than ever.  Includes work in Ukraine as well. 

Partners in Health -- With your support, Partners In Health delivers health care to the world’s poorest places, partnering with local governments to bring about global change. Their work has been particularly important in Haiti. 

UNICEF --The ceasefire in Gaza is bringing desperately needed hope to children — and UNICEF is scaling response efforts to help rebuild and restore the services they rely on for survival.
